Find out why I Love My School.
Core Knowledge® and the Creative Curriculum
The Core Knowledge Sequence® is predicated on the realization that what children are able to learn at any given moment depends on what they already know, and that what they know is a function of previous experience and teaching. Although current events and technology are constantly changing, there is a body of lasting knowledge and skills that form the core of a strong Preschool—Grade 8 curriculum.
Children deserve the best, so we demand the best.
One of the greatest concerns among families of preschool and primary age children relates to the quality of care their children receive outside of the home. To address this concern, Carolina Prep employs education specialists certified in various fields of education. Along with their professional expertise and genuine love for children, each member of our faculty and staff exhibit nurturing personalities, leadership abilities, and positive attitudes.
In order to provide the highest standard of care, we offer our educators and students low teacher:student ratios. In accordance with the National Association for Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) policy for best practices, Carolina Prep maintains low ratios and works to develop and promote strong bonds between students and teachers. The children benefit from the increased opportunities and attention that come from more individualized instruction, and their parents benefit from the peace of mind that comes with knowing that consistent care is being provided on a personal level.
It's a small world.
We celebrate and respect the individual cultural and ethnic backgrounds of our families. We encourage programs that prepare our children to be world citizens and compete in a global marketplace, yet also deeply value our local community.
Children often study aspects of the world around them. Our curriculum broadens and complements the focus on the family, the school, and the community. The open design of our "International Market" provides an opportunity for Pre-School children and their families to explore other cultures.
Selected topics in World History have been chosen to foster curiosity and the beginnings of understanding about the larger world, varied civilizations and ways of life. Daily lessons in Spanish help children understand and appreciate people from other countries.
A facility designed with children in mind.
In addition to our "International Market," our facility also houses a gymnasium, theatre, technology center, language lab, art studio, and a music hall.
Both our Pre-School and Primary School children have access to our technology center, and all of our Primary School classrooms are equipped with SmartBoards.
We don't believe in hidden fees.
The price you pay for Pre-School should include everything. Depending upon the age and needs of younger children, that includes diapers, wipes, ointment, bibs, and crib sheets. Lunch and snacks are included with your tuition, and children who arrive early also receive breakfast.
Speaking of meals and snacks, we believe that the food we serve should be nutritious. Therefore, we're pleased to serve Happy Cow Creamery milk products, and lunch is served by Veggies To Go.
Many families can also breathe a sigh of relief knowing that our facility is also peanut-free.
Financial aid.
Carolina Prep offers tuition assistance to qualifying families who demonstrate financial need as reported by TADS (www.tads.com), an independent outside agency conducting evaluations on behalf of Carolina Prep.
Tuition assistance is granted on an annual basis and is contingent upon the availability of funds in any given year. Please see the School's Directors for more information.
