Primary School Faculty

Misty White
Misty White graduated from USC Upstate with a B.A. in Education, and holds her certification in Early Childhood Development by the South Carolina State Board of Education. While completing her degree, Misty volunteered in Greenville County classrooms, as well as led weekly classroom reading programs. She has worked in Kindergarten classrooms at both Brushy Creek Elementary and Mountain View Elementary schools. Mrs. White was also an Elementary School Age Children's Director at a local church, where her responsibilities included, but were not limited to: curriculum devleopment, teaching, and scheduliing. Misty has a passion for helping children learn and grow, and she has been a part of the Carolina Prep team since January 2011. Read the Kindergarten blog.

Corrie Smith
Corrie Smith is a native of the Upstate, yet lived in the Charleston/Goose Creek area of SC for 15 years with her husband and two sons. She relocated to Greenville in 1998. Mrs. Smith worked in childcare for eight years in the North Charleston/Summerville area and was employed in the Berkeley County School District for four years. Previously she worked for Palmetto Prep for 6 years, and joined the staff of Carolina Prep in 2010.

Michelle Doyle
Michelle Doyle is a native of Johnson City, TN. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Converse College. She has previous experience teaching in three- to four-year-old preschool classrooms, as well as two years teaching Kindergarten. Michelle has taught First Grade at Carolina Prep since August 2010, and recently graduated with her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Doyle enjoys reading, cooking, and exercising. Kelly Latham
Kelly Latham is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. She has nine years of teaching experience. This is her eighth year teaching second grade. Kelly received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Lander University as well as a Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Furman University. She is certified with the South Carolina Department of Education and trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. She enjoys reading, shopping, and spending time with her family. Amy Forrester
Amy Forrester grew up in Greer and attended a small private school. Upon graduation, Mrs. Forrester enrolled at North Greenville University where she earned a BA in Elementary Education. Amy recently obtained her Masters of Education in Creative Curriculum Design and Implementation Through the Arts at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Amy has taught third and fourth grades in Spartanburg County. She was most recently a Pre-K teacher at Carolina Prep where she has worked since August 2010. In her spare time, she enjoys tutoring, working in the yard, attending Clemson football games, and taking long walks with her dog and fiance. Read the Third Grade blog.

Jami Temple
Jami Temple grew up in Greenville and graduated from Riverside High School in 2005. She went on to earn a BA in Elementary Education, as well as her Wilderness Leadership degree from Brevard College in North Carolina. Jami received a volleyball scholarship from Brevard where she played all four years. She also raced road and mountain bikes her junior and senior years of college. Jami graduated in May 2010, and worked three long-term substitute positions in Greenville County last year. Mrs. Temple has teaching experience in K4 and 4th grade, and is currently the volleyball coach at Riverside, and has been there for the past two years. Jami and her husband enjoy biking, hiking, traveling, spending time with family, and reading during their time off. Read the Fourth Grade blog.
